WESTLOCK SKATING CLUB
This program is for skaters age 3+ who have never been on the ice before.
Our Coaches work with the skaters to build their confidence as well as their ability to stand up and fall down safely, skating forwards and backwards, jumping and basic stopping skills.
Once the skater has built their speed and skill the coach will move them up to the CANSKATE program.
CANSKATE is for skaters who can skate unassisted.
Skate Canada has an amazing program which builds the skaters skills through challenging them while having fun. The skaters progress through multiple circuits designed to build the necessary basic skills to advance them into more difficult skill progressions that will make them better skaters.
CANSKATE is an amazing program which builds your skaters confidence and skating skills for them to progress further into Figure Skating, Hockey or Ringette.
We also offer Adult CANSKATE for skaters 18+ who would like to improve their skating skills.
Intro-STAR
This program is coach recommended for CANSKATERs who are planning on progressing into Figure Skating, STARSKATE.
Intro-STAR helps transition skaters from the higher levels of CANSKATE to STARSKATE which is more self-driven learning with lessons from the coach as opposed to entirely coach led sessions.
The skaters work on completing their final CANSKATE badges through a mix of ice time with CANSKATE as well as STARSKATE.
STARSKATE
STARSKATE is for skaters who have completed all 6 stages of CANSKATE and are interested in Figure Skating.
They work on more difficult spins, jumps and begin to learn pattern dances as well.
The skaters participate in group, private and semi-private lessons with their coach at this level. Your coach will discuss with you at the beginning of the season the lesson structure and answer all of your questions regarding this.
